How is a Body Butter different from Body Lotion?
We get asked this one often. Our Body Lotions are a mix of oil and water based ingredients, which makes them wonderful and effective for both moisturizing and hydration.
Body Butters are made primarily of natural, nutritious oils compared to give the kind of deep, protective moisturizing needed to maintain healthy skin.
I swim everyday. Will Body Butter protect my skin?
Yes it will. Many of our clients are swimmers who worry about salt water or chlorine damage to their skin. They swear by our Body Butter.
Body Butter can be used before your swim. The oils and wax work together to lock in moisture and lock out unwanted skin irritants. Or after your swim and shower to replenish moisture and restore protection.
I work with my hands. They get really dry. Will Body Butter help restore the skin on my hands?
Body Butter is formulated with deeply moisturizing oils and butters, repairing Aloe Vera extract and protective beeswax. It is exactly what hard working hands need after a day's work.
If you work in a job where you have to wash your hands a lot (like in a hospital, care facility, school or restaurant), Body Butter is for you.
If you are someone who works with materials that dry out your skin (like an artist, ceramicist, painter, gardener, a construction worker, or car mechanic) Body Butter is also for you.
How do I know if Body Butter will work for me?
Honestly, you won’t know until you try. That being said, our Body Butter a perfect choice for those who want to make the shift to natural ingredients for sustained, long term skin health.
The Formula is made for people who lean towards dry skin, or who need deeper than lotion moisturizing and protection.
Just check the ingredients list to make sure you don't have any allergies and then jump in.
What's the shelf life? Do I have to refrigerate Body Butter?
Our Body Butter is anhydrous—meaning it's made of oils and oil friendly ingredients; no water is in this formula. So that means we don't need a broad spectrum preservative in this formula. But we do adde Tocopherol, also known as Vitamin E. It's anti-oxidant properties extend the shelf life of Body Butter up to a year. No, you don't need to refrigerate it.
Will I have to go through a detox period?
You may have to. That depends greatly on your skin health and how many beauty product toxins it needs to detox from. Give that process at least two weeks and drink lots of water. You can also drink warm lemon water in the morning before eating or drinking anything else. That's an old school Ayurveda detox remedy.
How do you use Body Butter?
A little Body Butter goes a long way. Take a little in your palm rub your hands together, warming the oils to body temperature, and then spread a thin layer on your skin. Use daily after showering or after washing hands.Warm skin does a better job of absorbing the Body Butter.
Is your Body Butter Sticky like other ones I've tried?
Our Body Butter is easily absorbed into your skin. That being said, if you use too much, you might have that sticky experience. The trick is to warm use only a little bit and to warm up the oils between your palm before applying it to warm skin
Will Body Butter help me prevent stretch marks?
Stretch marks are caused when the skin is stretched rapidly, causing the collagen and elastin fibers to break down.
While it's not always possible to prevent stretch marks, there are things you can do to reduce your risk of developing them. Like daily deep moisturizing for your baby bump.
