I had a long bout of dermatitis caused by hormones/ ineffective skin treatments, and the absolute only thing that made a difference was the hydrating spritz and the face Chai for dry skin. Why is the Head Balm and the Thieves Salve solid instead of in a roll on?
We thought about this a lot. In the end, we went with a wax-based salve because it does a great job of holding the essential oils to your skin. It also gives you the ability to massage, allowing the healing power of touch to work its magic.
What's the shelf life? Do I have to refrigerate Body Therapy products?
All of the products in our Body Therapy line are anhydrous—meaning they are made of oils and oil friendly ingredients; no water is in these formulae. So that means we don't need a broad spectrum preservative in this formula. But we do add Tocopherol, also known as Vitamin E. Its anti-oxidant properties extend the shelf life of each Body Therapy product up to a year. No, you don't need to refrigerate them.
How do I know if your Body Therapy products will work for me?
Honestly, you won’t know until you try. If you are concerned, check the ingredient list to make sure there is nothing in our formulas that you might react to; and do a patch test
Will Irritated Skin Balm or Uber Rich help my eczema?
Both are designed to help skin issues. Our customers have reported back that the Irritate Skin Balm can help with red, rashy conditions like Rosacea. Uber Rich can help with super dry skin conditions, like certain kinds of eczema.
Will I have to go through a detox period?
You may have to. That depends greatly on your skin health and how many conventional personal care product toxins it needs to detox from. Give that process at least two weeks and drink lots of water. You can also drink warm lemon water in the morning before eating or drinking anything else. That's an old school Ayurveda detox remedy. Also, let your face breath, free from foundation make-up, while you're detoxing. That might help, too.
Is it Vegan?
Ma's Massage Oil is vegan. The balms and salves are not vegan. We use beeswax in them, for its antibacterial and healing properties.
