"I Love the Thieves Salve so much. The Thieves scent smells really great; its a perfect blend. It is said to have immune boosting properties. I have used it on my dry feet. Here is what I noticed, then what I later read. The smell is relaxing at bedtime. I later read that Theives supports better sleep. THIEVES SALVE FAQ'S
I've heard that Essential Oils have to be diluted to be used safely
Essential Oils are highly concentrated. Most of them can not be used neat on the skin. Health Canada recommends maximum percentages of Essential Oil, diluted in carrier oils in natural formulas. These recommendations are for adults. We have followed their recommendations exactly and submitted the formula to them for their approval.
Consult with a healthcare professional or pediatrician before applying the salve to young children or babies.
What's the shelf life? Do I have to refrigerate Thieves Salve?
Our Thieves Salve is anhydrous—meaning it's made of oils and oil friendly ingredients; no water is in this formula. So that means we don't need a broad spectrum preservative in this formula. But we do adde Tocopherol, also known as Vitamin E. It's anti-oxidant properties extend the shelf life of Thieves Salveup to a year. No, you don't need to refrigerate it.
Is it vegan-friendly?
It is not. We use Beeswax in this formula. But some of our other Things Thieves are vegan-friendly. You could try our Thieves Inhaler for aromatherapy benefits; diffuse our Thieves Wellness oil; or make a Thieves massage oil by putting a few drops into a tablespoon of carrier oil like Castor Oil.
How do I know if Thieves Salve will work for me?
Honestly, you won’t know until you try. That being said, our Thieves Salve is a perfect choice for those who want to make the shift to natural ingredients for sustained, long term health.
Just check the ingredients list to make sure you don't have any allergies. Do a patch test to make sure you have no big reactions.
Can I use this salve on children?
Care should be taken when using essential Oils on children or infants. Consult with a healthcare professional or pediatrician before applying the salve to young children or babies
