My friend Erin found your perfume on a weekend solo trip to Vancouver. She lives in Southeast Asia now. This past winter, I met her in Nepal for a 6 day trek in the Annapurna region of the Himalayas. The day before we left, we were having coffee, and she pulled out a pouch of her absolute essentials -- the few oils, balms, and scents that she can't live without. She gave me her Rain City roll on to smell, and it made me tear up. I've never had that kind of emotional reaction to a smell before. Why do you mix Essential Oils with Fragrance oils?
Humans know a good thing when we find it--we've been using Aromatherapy for centuries for our wellness and emotional wellbeing.
Derived from plants, essential Oils are full of amazing aromas and properties that can positively affect physical, emotional and mental health. But one of the things they don’t do well is stick around for a long period of time. The scent in essential oils will evaporate quickly.
Non-toxic Fragrance oils are manufactured aromatic or perfume oils, designed to mimic a natural scent. It is thought that they, too, can provide aromatherapy benefits in terms of scent uplift.
What Non-toxic Fragrance oils do really well is be more stable, last longer, extend product shelf life and create a foundation to keep essential oils from evaporating too quickly.
We bring you the best of both worlds—nature and non-toxic human made—in our Roll On Perfumes
Will the Roll On Perfume bother my scent sensitivities?
We have done our best to source Essential oils and non-toxic fragrance oils. But we can't guarantee they won't trigger a reaction. While fragrance oils can trigger scent sensitivities, so can essential oils. How our scents work with you is an individual experience.
Can I use your Roll On Perfume as a deodorant?
Yes you can! Fractionated Coconut oil, the carrier oil in our Roll On Perfume, is commonly used by some natural deodorants for its antibacterial properties, and how well the skin absorbs it without clogging pores.
Roll on Perfume is not an anti-perspirant. will not stop you from sweating. But it will take the edge off odors.
Will the Scent last on my skin for a long time?
Honestly, you won’t know until you try.
Perfume and skin are funny together, sometimes. We have met people for whom a scent will last all day and others for whom scent evaporates in the first five minutes of application, and everyone in between.
What's the shelf life?
Our Roll On Perfume is anhydrous—meaning it's made of oils and oil friendly ingredients; no water is in this formula. So that means we don't need a broad spectrum preservative in this formula. The fragrance oils tend to hold its own and essential oil scent for up to a year.
How long will the often will I have to reapply Roll On Perfume?
That depends on your skin and how well it holds scent. Try, test and reapply according to your preferences.
That being said, don't expect this product to last as long as a full on synthetic fragrance and alcohol based perfume.
Even though Roll On Perfume has synthetic fragrance oils in it, these perfumes are not made with the toxic ingredients that will make a scent go on for ever. The good news is that it likely wont give you. a headache either.
